    Position Summary

    Job Summary:

    The primary role of the Director of Design is to contribute to the success of the Development department. The Director of Design reports directly to the VP of Construction, but also works with all members of Development Department.


    Job Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:



    • Liaison between architect and Dickey's to facilitate complete construction documents.
    • Experience in reading layouts and blueprints.
    • Required to conduct takeoffs.
    • Guide and coach owners through the design process by getting approval for site visits and test fit.
    • Responsible for ensuring sites are not over engineered and are built to brand standards in additional to designing the most cost-effective layout for the franchisee.
    • Review site photos and approve appropriately the existing equipment for the equipment specialist.
    • Aide in answering questions regarding plans and equipment layout for PM's and owners.
    • Assist the department in achieving departmental goals by pushing the design process to receive completed construction documents and get them submitted to AHJ.
    • Manage and supervise site visit and permitting team.
    • Responsible for managing buildout cost and value engineering.
    • This position does not require for an individual to have an architect degree. 



    • Review comments made by municipality’s and implement changes accordingly
    • Analyze and address inefficient processes related to design and permitting to streamline processes and shorten permitting timelines
    • Oversee the plan submission process to ensure timely, accurate submission of plans.
    • Foster relationships with design-related vendors to ensure the best value and benefit to the Brand
