    Position Summary

    Mechanical Engineer

    Stanford Sonoma, Inc. | Dallas, TX

    SUMMARY
    : Looking for a creative, high-energy problem solver to work on high-volume manufacturing equipment configuration and optimization, and new product stages from research & development to design & manufacture.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ownership of pellet mill and furniture production equipment, including tool optimization, safety standards, PM specifications & procedures, troubleshooting guides, training signoffs, SPC charts (creation, monitoring, and response), cost controls, and quality.
    • Front-line ownership of building facilities, to include electrical systems, plumbing, and equipment layout optimization.
    • Work with manufacturing supervision & operators to optimize efficiency of planned & unplanned maintenance and tool changeovers to minimize production impact.
    • Interface with customers to create SolidWorks designs and quotes.
    • Maintain and ensure personal safety for yourself and all company assets.
    • Responsible for compliance with all environmental laws and to which the company subscribes.


    Job Requirements:

    • B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
    • Hands-on experience with Engineering design & manufacturing tools (SolidWorks preferred).
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, tool schematics, and procedural drawings & manuals.
    • Solid understanding of concepts including mechanics, thermodynamics, materials science, etc.
    • Creativity & analytical skills; adaptability; positive attitude; able to multi-task; detail-oriented.
    • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner to a non-technical audience.
