    Position Summary

    Business Development Manager

    Job Description

    1. Grow sales through building business with new accounts.
    2. Establish, maintain and expand the company's database of prospects and customer/vendor relationships.
    3. Determine proactive competitive strategies and targeted sales campaigns specific to partner's capabilities and needs and successfully articulate, position, and differentiate platform.
    4. Make outbound follow-up calls to existing customers via telephone and e-mail cross-sell and up-sell.
    5. Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales.
    6. Ensure follow-up with leads with calls-to-action, dates, complete profile information, sources, and secure meetings.
    7. Set up and deliver sales presentations, product/service demonstrations, and other sales actions.
    8. Where necessary, support marketing efforts such as trade shows, exhibits, and other events.
    9. Emphasize product/service features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
    10. Identify services and pricing that meet customer’s needs to meet business objectives.
    11. Implement and manage pricing strategies within all accounts.
    12. Maintain and expand relationships with freight carriers.
    13. Negotiate rates with freight carriers and customers.
    14. Overcome objections of prospective customers.
    15. Appropriately communicate brand identity.

     

    Requirements

    1. Experience and working knowledge of freight logistics.
    2. Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-call planning, call control, account development, and time management.
    3. Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
    4. Strong knowledge of re-distribution and freight principles, methods, practices and techniques.
    5. Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
    6. Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with customers.
    7. Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills.
    8. Strong written communication skills.
    9. Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
    10. Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
    11. Ability to occasionally travel and attend sales events or exhibits.
    12. Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
    13. High level of integrity and work ethic.
