Position Summary

This role is responsible to create and maintain a positive public image for Dickey’s Barbecue Restaurants and its affiliates, owners, and family members. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of PR functions as well as positive relationships with local and national media professionals in our industry.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

  • Evaluate, execute and maintain a public relations strategy and plan.
  • Create regular, positive, media buzz.
  • Create narratives that guide our brand story.
  • Pitch media and field press inquiries.
  • Plan and direct development of programs to maintain favorable public and franchisee views.
  • Write and disseminate multiple press releases on a weekly basis.
  • Build connections with key media organizations and journalists through a mix of traditional, digital and social channels.
  • Coach and prepare leaders on PR opportunities and activities.
  • Forecast news cycles and identify areas of trending public interest.
  • Understand the competitor landscape and stay ahead of any threat to our Companies or Brands.
  • Collaborate with creative teams for web, print and digital marketing efforts.
  • Analyze brand tracking, market trends, consumer needs and competitive landscape.

 

Skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in public relations, marketing or advertising
  • 5+ years’ experience in public relations (or equivalent)
  • Deep knowledge of traditional, digital, and social media channels

*This is an in-office role based in Dallas, TX. We are not offering a relocation package.
