Position Summary

Job Summary: The primary role of this role is to contribute to the success of the finance and accounting departments by leading accounting support and tasks. 

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Direct supervision of all accounting functions for specific divisions. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close processes, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, annual financial audit, ensuring compliance to budgeted expense amounts, and treasury functions. This role will also be part of a team that creates and implements policies and procedures to identify, resolve and document accounting issues in addition to creating procedures to make the reporting process more efficient and accurate.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  1. Preparing weekly and monthly financials for review.
  2. Review G/L coding of all transactions ensuring they are booked properly.
  3. Coaching and mentoring the staff and teaching them proper accounting.
  4. Assisting and learning each of the tasks of the department to be their back-up if necessary.
  5. Ensure accounting is aligned with GAAP.
  6. Audit and review franchise and area development agreements to ensure proper collection and payment of fees.
  7. Maintain full cycle accounting for multiple subsidiaries.
  8. Processing intercompany transactions and identifying them for elimination in consolidations.
  9. Reconciling various revenue and expense accounts.
  10. Assisting with the monthly evaluation process for each direct report.
  11. Assisting in the successful completion of the annual audit.  This includes work paper preparation and handling questions.
  12. Preparing documentation for the successful completion of the tax returns prepared by outside CPA firms.
  13. Ensuring reconciliations of the bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts are performed monthly.
  14. Review and modify internal controls to ensure security of company assets.
  15. Identify efficiencies with current processes allowing us to work smarter not harder.
  16. Assist with any duties necessary for the success of the Accounting Department.

 

Education:

  • Bachelors and Master’s Degree with an emphasis in Accounting.
  • C.P.A is preferred but not required.
